Sewing Retreat

Going to the sewing retreat was a great way to get a break from the hamster wheel and a bit of my lost creativity back. I spent a weekend in one of the most nurturing environments ever (as opposed to work, where everything takes from you). I managed to finish a quilt top that I had been working on for 2 years, and I met a group of incredible women, all of them willing to help and support each other.

I wrote a blog post about the event in my knitpick blog here. Preparing for such a weekend was a new thing for me, as was spending a weekend focussing only on my own personal hobbies and socialising. My normal day to day does not include a lot of socialising since most of my workmates are remote workers and don't live nearby and as an introvert prefer the quietness of the home, as opposed to going out and hanging out with friends.
